Fixed fee employment advice

Looking to cut employment legal costs without having to skimp on the quality of the advice?

In the current economic climate, it is essential that you get value for money. This is where CBG law can help. We offer a high end service to employers for contentious and non contentious employment work at fixed fees. This means you are less likely to receive a shock when the legal bill arrives so you are able to budget effectively.

WHAT YOU GET:

A tailored service with terms, conditions, fees and expectations agreed from the outset.

In addition, we offer you a free initial consultation to enable us to understand the issues and to take instructions. We will then agree a plan with you to endeavour to achieve your aims.

For each stage of the proceedings, we will agree a fixed fee. This means you know where you stand and can budget effectively. It also means you will usually end up paying less than you would do paying solicitors the typical way – by the hour.

FOR EXAMPLE: A redundancy consultation:

You are a company planning to make 5 or fewer junior administrative employees redundant. We could agree with you a fixed fee structure as follows (all quotes are subject to type of business, contents of contracts of employment, employee benefits and other significant criteria*):

  1. Initial Advice and Research
With redundancies, there is a process to be followed. We can streamline that process for you, giving you all the information and tools you need to proceed. This includes initial advice on selection criteria matrices and any specific issues you may have such as for example, length of service, maternity leave or unique positions with no comparators. We advise you on the depth of the investigation you need to go into, the length of the consultation and the type of information you need to give to the employees. Example of likely fixed fee: £1,500 plus VAT and disbursements.*

  2. The Process
We then provide you with tailored precedents of all the letters you will need to send out, prior to commencing your consultation.
We will also give you a checklist to guide you through the meetings with employees and precedent letters to give to the employees after the meeting to confirm selection or non-selection for redundancy. Example of likely fixed fee: £1,500 plus VAT and disbursements.*

  3. Appeals and Other Issues
If any of your employees make a non-contentious appeal, we will guide you through the appeal process. This includes providing a checklist for the appeal meeting(s), discussing the outcome of the appeals with you and help drafting letters confirming the outcome of the appeal(s). Example of typical fixed fee: £1,000 plus VAT and disbursements.*
