About Ian

Ian is a partner in the property team. He is an experienced transactional lawyer having spent his career working at boutique property firms in the West End.

Ian assists clients through the lifecycle of their real estate investments and projects from the initial site assembly stage to development, funding, lettings, and disposals.

Ian is well known for representing operators in the food and beverage sector. He is the longstanding and trusted lawyer for an extensive list of operators and restaurateurs on the taking of and disposal of units.

Ian speaks fluent German and is a member of the German Speaking Lawyers’ Association.

Ian has a broad practice covering both the commercial and residential sectors, including:

• The acquisition and disposal of commercial and residential premises and mixed-use developments.
• Advising restaurant and bar operators on lettings, including pop-ups, collaborative ventures, and management agreements for concessionary units at museums and theatres.
• Secured lending and bridging finance.

• Acting for a global retail brand on the opening of their flagship premises on New Bond Street, Mayfair and King’s Road, Chelsea.
• Advising a developer client on a mixed use (retail/office/residential) development including site assembly, funding, rights to light agreements, construction procurement documents and pre-let/sale agreements.
• Acting for numerous medical practitioners taking premises within the Harley Street Medical Area.
• Acting for a restaurateur client on the opening of six of their restaurants including complicated turnover rent provisions.
